DETAILS/SCHEDULE: 

  • 9:00AM: Light breakfast will be available between 9:00am-9:30am.
  • 9:30AM: Class #1 (Civil Rights) will begin promptly at 9:30am and end at 12:30pm.
  • 12:30PM: Lunch will be served between 12:30pm-1:00pm.  
  • 1:00PM: Class #2 (Core Law) will begin promptly at 1:00pm and end at 4:15pm.  

Those who only register for ONE class are still welcome to come for lunch.  Please just indicate that on your registration.  

CLASS DESCRIPTION: 

Class #1: "Civil Rights: Historical Consequences" **Virtual Option Available**

  • This course examines the historical progression from the Founding Fathers to the Civil War,     Reconstruction, the New Deal, and the Civil Rights and Fair Housing Movement.  
  • There will be NAR member perspectives Realtors who lived during and after the Civil Rights and Fair Housing Act laws. It will also touch on modern issues about civil rights and fair housing. 
  • The class will explore the historical perspective and lessons learned from our civil rights history.

Class #2: "Core Law: Unpacking Federal Laws that Effect Real Estate" **Virtual Option Available**

How does the Federal Government impact the Real Estate industry? Let’s delve into each of these topics:

  • Anti-Trust: History, Notable Cases, Common Issues, and Prevention
  • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA): History and Key Protections
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): Copyright and Fair Housing
  • 1031 Exchange

**Virtual Option: When you sign up for the virtual option you will receive a Zoom invitation/link for each class via email upon registration as well as the day before the class.  You must be present with your camera ON 90% of each program in order to receive credit. Please call MOAR at 937-335-8501 with questions about virtual registration.**

CLASS COST: FREE class for MOAR members.  $30 per class OR $50 for the entire day for non-members.

CREDIT: Each course is certified for 3 hours of real estate credit. A total of 6 hours of real estate credit is available.  Per ODRE requirements, you must be present 90% of each program in order to receive credit.  Class #1 (Civil Rights) also fulfills the *NEW* NAR Fair Housing training requirement. If you still need to meet this requirement, please be sure to forward a copy of your completion certificate to our office at moar@moarrealtors.com and we will update your record.
